Valent U.S.A. Corporation has received additional EPA
registrations for Presidio™ Fungicide in brassica (head and
stem), bulb and root vegetable crops (except carrots, potatoes
and sugar beets).
Introduced earlier this year for grapes, leafy greens and
fruiting vegetables, Presidio's breakthrough, targeted chemistry
has proven highly effective for growers with crops threatened by
downy mildews. Presidio also controls late blight (Phytophthora
infestans), and root, crown and fruit rots caused by
Phytophthora capsici in vegetables.
"Vegetable growers experienced an excellent year of downy mildew
and Phytophthora control with Presidio," said Rick Kraus,
product manager. "Now brassica, bulb and root vegetable growers
also will be able to incorporate Presidio's fast-acting
chemistry and short two day pre harvest interval into their
disease control program."
Presidio has a novel mode of action and is in a new chemical
class-giving growers a powerful tool to control tough diseases
and ward off resistance issues. Presidio protects crops to help
protect quality and grower profits.
Unlike other fungicide products, Presidio has no known tank mix
limitations with other fungicides or insecticides, allowing
growers flexibility in their crop protection programs. Presidio
can be shanked in soil, applied via sprinkler or used as a
foliar treatment.
Presidio is registered in most states except New York;
California registration of Presidio on brassica, bulb and root
vegetables is pending.
