DNAStar releases Lasergene 19 software for genomics, molecular biology, and protein analysis

Madison, Wisconsin, USA
May 29, 2026

DNASTAR has announced the release of Lasergene 19, a major update to its Lasergene software package for genomics, molecular biology, and protein analysis. The release introduces significant enhancements designed to support faster, more flexible, and more integrated research workflows.

Lasergene 19 includes major updates across protein structure prediction, genomics analysis, molecular biology, and antibody modeling workflows. New capabilities and workflow improvements throughout the software suite are designed to help researchers work more efficiently while maintaining flexibility in how and where analyses are performed.

The release expands support for local protein modeling workflows, giving researchers increased control over data privacy and computational resources. Lasergene 19 also introduces new batch prediction capabilities for docking and antibody modeling workflows, helping streamline large-scale protein modeling projects through improved job setup, tracking, and results management.

Additional highlights include significantly faster assembly speeds in SeqMan NGen for genomics workflows and new integration between SeqBuilder Pro and the SciNote electronic lab notebook (ELN), supporting improved collaboration, traceability, and project management.

“Lasergene 19 brings together major advances across multiple areas of biological research, from genomics and molecular biology to protein structure prediction and antibody analysis,” said Matthew Keyser, Senior Product Manager at DNASTAR. “We focused heavily on improving workflow flexibility, performance, and integration so researchers can work more efficiently while maintaining control over their data and computational workflows.”

A full list of enhancements and updates can be found in the Lasergene 19 release notes.
