- Important milestone on the path to IPO readiness by mid-2027
BASF has mandated Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan as Global Coordinators to lead the preparation of the planned initial public offering (IPO) of its Agricultural Solutions business. With this, BASF Agricultural Solutions is taking the next step on its path toward IPO readiness, targeted by mid-2027. As previously announced, BASF plans to list Agricultural Solutions as a Societas Europaea (SE) on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The potential IPO is a central element of BASF’s “Winning Ways” strategy and is intended to unlock the full value potential of the business as an independent, pure-play agricultural company. As a leading provider of integrated agricultural solutions, the company combines a strong crop protection business with a growing portfolio of seeds, traits and biological as well as digital solutions to support farmers around the world.
The legal and operational separation of the business remains on track. To date, approximately 80 percent of the global Agricultural Solutions business has transitioned into separate legal entities that operate on a new industry-specific ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. This transition enables the company to respond more effectively to the specific needs of agricultural markets, increase agility and strengthen customer proximity worldwide. At the same time, Agricultural Solutions continues to establish the governance structures and capabilities required for a publicly listed company.
As part of its Capital Markets Day on November 24, 2026, BASF will also provide a strategic and operational overview of the Agricultural Solutions business. At the event, all four members of the Management Board of BASF Agricultural Solutions will present.
No decision has yet been made regarding the execution or timing of an IPO. Any such decision will depend on a number of factors, for example, prevailing capital market conditions.

BASF hat Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs und J.P. Morgan als globale Koordinatoren für die Vorbereitung des geplanten Börsengangs (IPO) ihres Agricultural Solutions-Geschäfts beauftragt. Damit macht BASF Agricultural Solutions den nächsten Schritt auf dem Weg zur Börsenreife bis Mitte 2027. BASF plant, wie bereits angekündigt, eine Notierung von Agricultural Solutions als Societas Europaea (SE) an der Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse. Der mögliche Börsengang ist ein zentrales Element der „Winning Ways“-Strategie von BASF und soll das volle Wertpotenzial des Geschäfts als eigenständiges, ausschließlich auf den Agrarmarkt ausgerichtetes Unternehmen erschließen. Als führender Anbieter integrierter Agrarlösungen verbindet Agricultural Solutions ein starkes Pflanzenschutzgeschäft mit einem wachsenden Portfolio an Saatgut, Pflanzeneigenschaften (Traits) und biologischen sowie digitalen Lösungen, um Landwirte weltweit zu unterstützen.
Die rechtliche und operative Trennung des Geschäfts verläuft planmäßig. Bislang wurden etwa 80 Prozent des globalen Agricultural Solutions-Geschäfts auf eigenständige Gesellschaften übertragen, die ein neues, branchenspezifisches ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)-System nutzen. Dadurch kann das Unternehmen noch effektiver und gezielter auf die Bedürfnisse der Agrarmärkte eingehen, seine Agilität steigern und die Kundennähe weltweit stärken. Gleichzeitig baut Agricultural Solutions die für ein börsennotiertes Unternehmen erforderlichen Governance-Strukturen und -Fähigkeiten weiter auf.
BASF wird im Rahmen ihres Capital Markets Days am 24. November 2026 auch einen strategischen und operativen Überblick über das Agricultural Solutions-Geschäft geben. Alle vier Mitglieder des Management Boards von BASF Agricultural Solutions werden dort präsentieren.
Eine Entscheidung über die Durchführung oder den Zeitpunkt eines Börsengangs wurde noch nicht getroffen und wird von verschiedenen Faktoren, unter anderem von den Kapitalmarktbedingungen, abhängen.
