India - Bayer CropScience offers ‘seed to harvest’ solutions, offers seeds and crop protection solutions to farmers through integrated platforms

“Bayer CropScience is committed to the spirit of innovation and continually strives to introduce a whole range of solutions to help the Indian farmer,” said Stephan Gerlich, Country Group Head, Bayer in India. He was speaking after inaugurating the new Bayer CropScience office premises in Madhapur on Wednesday. Frederic Arboucalot, Global Head of Rice Seed & Traits, Head of BioScience Agricultural Crops AsiaPacific, Jens Hartmann, Country Head, India, Bayer CropScience, South Asia and Satish Patil, Head, Bayer BioScience, India were also present at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Jens Hartmann said “In realisation of Bayer business strategy - one face to the customer - we now offer seeds and crop protection solutions through an integrated platform. This concept has proven to be very successful in delivering a comprehensive crop management solution to farmers. The Hyderabad Bayer office will host the corporate office of Bayer BioScience and two important sales zones for Crop Protection as a part of this integrated approach.”

Frederic Arboucalot while touring new premises said “Bayer CropScience’s strong focus on innovation and substantial investments in Research & Development enables it to contribute significantly to Seed to Harvest solutions - starting from developing high-yielding hybrid varieties through our robust breeding programme to facilitate innovative solutions for crop improvement and developing modern, innovative crop protection agents.”

Speaking at the event, Satish Patil said “Our fastest-expanding business segment is our BioScience business. Bayer BioScience in India is a forerunner in the arena of seed business in the country. Located now in Madhapur, our new premises in Hyderabad, Bayer BioScience is engaged in research, development, production and marketing of high quality hybrid seeds and traits of field crops. To cater to the specific needs of farmers, Bayer BioScience hybrid seeds offer a wide product range covering Hybrid Rice, Cotton, Pearl Millet, Corn, Grain Sorghum as well as composite varieties of Mustard.”
