Rancona V RTU from Arysta LifeScience North America provides growers with strong season start in wet or dry conditions - New product delivers comprehensive seed protection and stimulates growth

Cary, North Carolina, USA
November 19, 2015

As spring wheat growers begin planning for a strong start to their season, Arysta LifeScience North America announces RANCONA V RTU – a new seed protectant developed to enhance germination, stimulate growth and improve crop vitality. The formulation allows cereals growers with fields of varying soil moisture levels to beat impending weather and give their crops the jump-start they need for a successful year.

“RANCONA V RTU is an easy-to-use product that provides growers with consistent performance across many different environments,” says Chris Wooley, Seed Treatment Marketing Manager, Arysta LifeScience. “It helps growers protect their seeds while they germinate and helps seedlings emerge even in drier soil conditions, resulting in established stands and healthy growth before the cold weather rolls in.”

Disease Protection

RANCONA V RTU combines three active ingredients, Ipconazole, Carboxin and Metalaxyl, making it one of the most comprehensive and effective seed treatments on the market. It delivers a broad spectrum of disease protection for plants through both contact and systemic activity. This allows it to provide both curative and preventative disease control during germination and seedling  development.

Enhanced Germination and Growth

RANCONA V RTU protects seeds against all five major classes of fungi, including seed rot, damping off and seedling blights, by using a low rate that is safe to the seed. This makes the product highly effective particularly in areas like the Northern Plains states  (Montana, South Dakota and North Dakota), where dry soil conditions may threaten germination.

“When planting, particularly for spring cereals, growers need seed to germinate, emerge and get established as quickly as possible  before unfavorable weather moves in and slows down the growing process,“ says Dr. Jaime Yanes, U.S. Seed Treatment Senior  Technical Manager, Arysta LifeScience. “Carboxin aids in emergence under dry soil conditions. We have seen up to 80 percent  emergence in as little as 19 days in studies conducted under dry soil conditions (25 percent soil moisture). That gives growers a  tremendous edge going into the season.”

Better Stand Establishment

Just as important as seed germination, RANCONA V RTU also has demonstrated improved stands for cereals crops like spring wheat. “In field trials, growers who have treated their fields with RANCONA V RTU have seen up to a 7.5 percent increase in stands versus those growers who have not treated,” says Yanes. “That is a huge benefit to growers, translating to increased yield and an increase in profit for those growers.”

Availability

RANCONA V RTU is available now through retailers and distributors throughout the U.S., including the Pacific Northwest, Northern Plains and all wheat producing states. For more information about the RANCONA family of seed protection products, visit  www.rancona.com.
