We are looking for a Canola Seed Agronomist to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Western Montana.

We are looking for a Canola Seed Agronomist to be the technical expert providing strong leadership in the effective evaluation, management and technical information exchange of the InVigor and InVigor Gold portfolio of canola hybrids as well as trait technology packages leading to decisive hybrid placement that optimizes yield potential and performance predictability within specific production regions.
As an Canola Seed Agronomist - Western MT (Field), you create chemistry by...
- Outlining, implementing and managing a broad testing program to effectively evaluate BASF canola and hybrids for commercial advancement and placement refinement.
- Working closely with commercial operations, marketing, supply chain, production, breeding, trait development, technical service, Ag Solutions Advisors and Business Reps to profitably manage a robust product portfolio of seeds and traits
- Following stewardship and compliance requirements, contributing to the development of commercial strategies and providing product positioning tools for sales.
- Acting as a technical expert of the product portfolio of seed and traits, with high level of competency in product portfolio, product placement, product management, and competitive offerings.
- Leading agronomic and product training activities targeted at Ag Solutions Advisors, Business Reps, customers, university personnel, and other influential customers.
- Training Ag Solutions Advisors and Business Reps on investigative field techniques and assisting with product investigation where necessary.
- Actively engaging in special projects to support growth of seed and trait business in US and/or globally.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 50% during peak season.
If you...
- Have a PhD with minimum of 4 years of experience OR MS with minimum of 8 years OR BS and 10 plus years. Thesis-based MS or PhD degree in a biological or agricultural related science preferred.
- Possess minimum 3 years high level performance (at or above expectations) in previous position in an agriculturally related field.
- Think strategically on short-term and long-term business development, reacting to market developments and making critical decisions for region.
- Have technical knowledge of crop management practices of canola in the US.
- Demonstrate communication and human relations skills necessary to perform the duties of the position, influencing decision makers and projecting a positive BASF technical image.
- Have analytical and creative skills to manage complex databases and deliver strong business support findings.
- Display a specialized knowledge of hybrid testing, statistical analysis and experimental design.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills as needed to analyse data, prepare promotional and training literature, and to accomplish written communication tasks.
- Have strong statistical and analytical skills, demonstrating strengths in experimental design.

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $108,800 - $149,600. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
