Davis, California, USA
May 6, 2020
Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Seed Business 101 Field Crops is rescheduled for November 16-20, 2020. The course will be held at the same location: The historic Hotel Baker in St. Charles, IL, USA.

Seed Business 101 is offered by UC Davis Seed Biotechnology Center since 2010 and has been attended by over 600 seed professionals. This one-week course is designed to expose participants to the five functional areas of a seed company (R&D, production, operations, sales and marketing; and administration). By creating a virtual seed company and case studies for each functional area, the course content is delivered in a very interactive way. During each of the four case studies, students assume a different functional responsibility within the company. The course gives employees a broad understanding of the major aspects of a seed company’s operations and cross-departmental knowledge of best practices for profitability.

The course is taught by widely respected industry executives with additional help of industry experts participating as guest speakers.
