Monsanto Company completes divestiture of sunflower assets

Monsanto Company (NYSE: MON) announced today that it has completed the divestiture of its global sunflower assets to Syngenta. Under the terms of the agreement, Syngenta purchased assets and assumed liabilities of Monsanto associated with its global hybrid sunflower seed business for $160 million. Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Monsanto Company is a leading global provider of technology-based solutions and agricultural products that improve farm productivity and food quality. Monsanto remains focused on enabling both small-holder and large-scale farmers to produce more from their land while conserving more of our world's natural resources such as water and energy.
