Russia approves Syngenta’s GM maize with alpha-amylase for food use

On 5th April maize SYN-E3272-5 (Event 3272) has been approved for food use in the Russian Federation. Russia is the sixth country that has approved this maize line after Australia, Canada, Mexico, Philippines and USA.

Maize line 3272 has been genetically modified to express a thermostable alpha-amylase enzyme (AMY797E) for use in dry-grind fuel ethanol production.
