Total Seed Production, Inc. adds another Irrigation pivot
Tipton, Indiana, USA
June 6, 2016
Total Seed Production, Inc. (TSP) is adding an irrigation pivot to another one of its seed fields. Even though multiple studies have proven irrigation is not necessarily needed in the top producing counties in Indiana, TSP feels it is important to irrigate in order to continue producing their world class seed. This pivot will provide irrigation to 354 acres. Not only is irrigation important if rainfall is insufficient during the growing months, but it is also used to reduce the stress by keeping the plants cool. This new pivot makes the sixth for the company's operation with a total of 1,527 irrigated acres.
Aaron Conaway, President said “Having irrigation helps us to provide the moisture to our crops whenever needed. Sufficient water is just as important as installing tile to help drain excess moisture throughout the year. This is just another way we insure that we continue to provide the highest quality seed that our customers have come to expect for the past 80 years.”
Total Seed Production Inc. is family owned and operated by 4th generation seedsmen, and is one of the largest vertically integrated seed corn and soybean seed producers in the United States. The home office and production facility is located in central Indiana and services customers throughout the entire USA, Canada, and Mexico.
